Business leaders and those in social service, health, religious, military, education, cultural arts, and government organizations who are committed to making our community the best place to live, work and to do business are invited to apply.

Applications for the Class of 2021-2022 are now open.

Leadership

Under the guidance of the faculty at the Fred W. Smith National Library for the Study of George Washington at Mount Vernon, participants will learn about leadership, management, conflict resolution, managing change, and character-based decision making inspired by the life of George Washington.

Issues

Key community leaders will be invited to speak to your class to help you understand the complexities of the current issues that face our community. Experts will present an in-depth look at the issues and you will have the opportunity to explore these challenges, as well as effective solutions.

Connections That Matter

You will develop a personal and professional network of those who care about our community. Not only will you personally know the key people in our community, you will also establish among your fellow Leadership Class members many enduring professional relationships and friendships.

Your Commitment

When you join Leadership Mount Vernon Lee, you are committing to attend all nine program sessions. Classes will be from 11:00 am to 5:30 pm each program day, at the Fred W. Smith National Library for the Study of George Washington at Mount Vernon.

The Leadership class provided a great opportunity to network and learn more about the community through the eyes of local officials and small business owners. Highly recommended!
